One such course is the Cypress Bay Golf Club. This course just off Hwy 17 opened for business in 1972. It is the design of Russell Breeden who built courses throughout the Southeast. This course offers a par 72 on 6502 yards at the longest tee. The course keeps the greens in excellent condition. The name of the game with this course is accuracy. You have beautiful fairways that bring you close to the hole. Nevertheless, you need accuracy to bring the ball home. It is a great, affordable day of golf.

If you want a particular challenge in Little River golf courses, you need to try a round at Glen Dornoch. This is a particularly challenging course. Myrtle Beach's Golf Magazine voted it the most challenging course in the area in 2004. It is the design of Clyde Johnson. This course offers a par 72 on 6850 yards at the longest tee. You will find the grounds are quite breathtaking. Even the most experienced golfers will find a challenge on at least one of its 18 holes. The course runs close to the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. It is well worth the fees.

River Hills Golf and Country Club is a welcome addition to the cadre of Little River golf courses. This course offers a real taste of Southern beauty. Tom Jackson designed this course. It opened in 1988. The course made its appearance for many years on Golf Digest's Top 50 in the Southeast. Locals love this course for its continuing challenges. This course offers challenges for the beginners as well as those with more experience. The course is 72 par with 6918 yards at the longest tee. It is a relaxed course, but offers something for everyone.

The Valley at Eastport Golf Club provides is another gem in the collection of Little River golf courses. The designer is Dennis Griffiths. The course opened for play in 1988. Despite being in the coastal plains, this course offers wonderful contours that will give the most experienced players some challenge. The greens have a full shroud of mature trees that make the course feel much older than it is. It offers a par 70 on a 6202 yard from the longest tee. You see that these courses are some of the best that the Grand Strand offers.
